Swimming & Diving Closes 2019 Slate with Strong Performances at Pace Saturday

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's University swimming & diving programs had a strong showing in a dual match at Pace University on Saturday to close out the 2019 portion of the calendar year. The men's team topped the host Setters by a nearly 50-point margin, while the women were edged by just 13 points.

Top Performances

• Justine Drake posted a score of 123.68 in the 1-meter diving to claim the first Peacock victory of the day.
• The women's quartet of Natalie Davis, Devyn Hantgin, Amelie Essmann and Noelle Sprenkle earned a first-place spot in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:56.68.
• The men's also boasted a first-place win in the 200-yard medley relay, with Michael Spark, Dylan Dela Cruz, Troy Pina and Martin Le Pays du Teilleul clocking in at 1:40.15.
• Junior Marie-Christine Geck came in first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:04.71 and first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:30.53.
• For the men, Thomas Granet came in second and Ferran Martinez came in third for the 1000-yard freestyle relay with times of 10:10.78 and 10:48.57 respectively.
• In the 200-yard freestyle, Yann Le Gall had a time of 1:46.82, putting him in first place for the race.
• Efrat Marom earned a second place win for the women's team with a time of 25.46 in the 50-yard freestyle.
• In the 50-yard freestyle, Andrew Galarza emerged victorious while Troy Pina came in second having times of 22.49 and 23.64, respectively.
• Brian Coughlin also finished first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:03.90.
• Amelie Essmann posted a win for the women's side in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 1:02.70.
• Troy Pina also came in first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.01.
• In the 100-yard freestyle, Andrew Galarza won the event with a time of 47.23, while Yann Le Gall came in second with a time of 49.13.
• Natalie Davis had a first place win in the 100-yard backstroke, having a time of 1:00.67.
• Martin Le Pays du Teilleul placed first in the 500-yard freestyle, with a finishing time of 4:35.90.
• The men dominated in the 100-yard Breaststroke, with Dylan Dela Cruz, Brian Coughlin and Thomas Granet taking the top three spots of the race.
• The men's quartet of Yann Le Gall, Martin Le Pays du Teilleul, Andrew Galarza and JT Funari placed first in the 200-yard freestyle relay and had a time of 1:32.38.
