BUFFALO, NY – Men's freshman swimmer,
Yann Le Gall, became Saint Peter's first medalist at the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Swimming & Diving Championships in Buffalo, NY at the Burt Flickenger Center at Erie Community College. Both Peacock teams remain in ninth place following day two with the men's team at 92 points and the women's team at 50 points.
Le Gall earned his first collegiate MAAC medal in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing the race with time of 20.94, earning him the fifth-place spot on the podium. The finish also added 14 points to the Peacocks team score.
Other top finishes on the day included,
Oleksiy Polishchuk taking second in the B-Final of the 200-yard IM and
Andrew Galarza who finished third in the B-Final of the 500-yard freestyle.
The men's relay team of Le Gall,
Dino Jajcanin,
David Dolgitzer, and
Daniel Betts took seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Devyn Hantgin,
Evangelia Vasilikas,
Sky Labonte, and
Rachel Valentine finished in ninth-place.
Action resumes tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. with prelims followed by finals at 6 p.m.
