Softball Drops Season Openers at Seton Hall

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The Saint Peter's softball team dropped both games against Marist and Seton Hall on the first day of the season in South Orange.
 
Game Notes vs. Marist:

• Marist outscored the Peacocks 3-2 in the first inning to start the game.
• Theamaris Ramirez and Alina Guevara each hit RBI singles for the Peacocks' first two runs of the season.
• The Red Foxes and the Peacocks each hit a homerun in the third inning, with the Peacocks' blast coming from Georgia Verrastro, her first homerun of the season.
• In the fourth inning, Marist scored six runs followed by three more runs in the fifth inning to secure the 13-3 win.  

Game Notes vs. Seton Hall: 

• Seton Hall scored one run in the first and third innings against the Peacocks. 
• In the sixth inning, the Pirates added on four more runs. 
• Sydney Senerchia had a total of seven strikeouts against the Pirates. 
• Georgia Verrastro, Taylor White and Katie Sciglimpagli each had one hit in the 6-0 loss to the Pirates.

Up Next:

• The Peacocks travel to Hampton, Virginia for the Pirate Invitational from March 2-3
• On the first day, the team will play a doubleheader against North Carolina Central then Delaware, starting at 9 a.m.
• The following day, the Peacocks will start with Delaware State at 9 a.m. followed by Hampton at 1 p.m.
