Women’s Basketball Drops Season Series with Niagara on Monday Night

The Peacocks concluded their Western New York road trip with an 81-57 loss to Niagara

NIAGARA UNIV., NY- The Saint Peter's women's basketball team fell to Niagara, 81-57 on Monday night, to conclude their Western New York trip. Wil'lisha Jackson notched her first career double double against the Purple Eagles. 
 
Game Notes vs. Niagara:
  • The Peacocks fell behind 7-0 to begin the game.
  • Jackson scored seven straight points midway through the first quarter, cutting Niagara's lead to 13-11. 
  • Sammy Lochnerdrained a 3-pointer at the 1:02 mark to bring the score to 19-14 to end the quarter. 
  • Jackson scored all six points for the Peacocks in the second quarter, going into halftime down 40-20. 
  • In the third quarter, the Peacocks went on a short 5-point run to try to cut into the Purple Eagles lead.
  • Zoe Peroadded 10 points in the final 10 minutes of the game.
  • The Peacocks outscored the Purple Eagles 23-18 in the last quarter. 
  • The comeback attempt in the fourth quarter was not enough and Niagara went on to win, 81-57. 
Inside The Numbers:
  • Jackson earned her first career double double, finishing with a team high of 21 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Zoe Perofinished with 14 points against the Purple Eagles, going 6-7 from the free throw line while also grabbing six rebounds. 
  • Cinnamon Dockery and TyaraMcQueen each totaled five points.
  • Dockery also added a team high of four steals.
