JERSEY CITY, NJ - Saint Peter's softball split two games against hOURglass Rival, Rider, on Saturday afternoon. Both games of the doubleheader went to 10 innings, with the Broncs winning game one, 3-1 and the Peacocks winning game two, 7-6.
Alina Guevara hit a walk-off double to give the Peacocks the win in game two.

Game One:
- The Broncs took a 1-0 lead in the first inning off a single to left field.
- The Peacocks wouldn't get their first hit of the game until the bottom of the seventh inning, when Harley Connors singled to center field.
- Alina Guevara then hit a line drive to center field, narrowly missing the top of the fence, scoring Connors all the way from first to tie the game.
- The Peacocks were unable to walk-off in the seventh, sending the game into extra innings.
- Neither team could score the go-ahead run, but the Broncs broke through in the top of the 10th inning, when a pop-up to shortstop was mishandled, scoring two runs.
- Saint Peter's couldn't muster anymore runs in the bottom half of the inning, giving Rider the 3-1 win.
- Freshman pitcher Sydney Senerchia pitched a career-high 10 innings with 11 strikeouts in the loss.
Game Two:
- The Peacocks got on the board first in game two in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Katie Sciglimpaglia hit a lead-off single to right field followed by single from Harley Connors to shortstop.
- Two batters later, Alina Guevara doubled to center field to score Sciglimpaglia from second to put the Peacocks ahead 1-0.
- Saint Peter's added two more runs in the second frame, drawing two walks with the bases loaded to go ahead 3-0.
- With two outs, Sciglimpaglia drew a walk, followed by another single from Connors and a single from Theamaris Ramirez, before Guevara and Alyssa Mido were walked to bring in the two runs.
- Rider got on the board with one run each in the third and fourth innings to cut into the Peacocks' lead, 3-2.
- The Peacocks regained a three-run lead in the fourth inning, again scoring the runs with two outs in the inning.
- Mido hit a hard single to right field, bringing up Anja Solveig Kane, who hit a towering homer to center field off the first pitch she saw to put the Peacocks ahead 5-2.
- The Peacocks added to their lead in the fifth with an RBI from Ramirez.
- Barbara Verrastro singled to center field and Connors reached first on a fielder's choice, before both runners advanced to second and third, respectively, on a passed ball.
- In the next at-bat, Ramirez hit a single to center field to score Verrastro from third.
- The Broncs added two more runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to tie the game at 6-6.
- The game went into the 10th inning still tied at six when Guevara hit her second double of the game to score Connors from second for the walk-off win, 7-6.
- Barbara Verrastro pitched 8.2 innings as the starter and the reliever in the win.
