SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The Saint Peter's softball team lost both games of its doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Seton Hall. The Peacocks lost game one 7-2, followed by a second loss, 8-0 (5 innings).
Game Notes vs. Seton Hall:
Game 1:
- Seton Hall started the game off with a two-run home run to center field in the first inning.
- The Pirates added another run in the inning to take the lead 3-0.
- In the second inning the Pirates scored another four runs to stretch their lead 7-0.
- The Peacocks got on the board in the fifth inning when Taylor White doubled to right center field bringing in two runs, still trailing 7-2.
- The Peacocks were unable to score during the rest of the game ending with a final score of 7-2.
Game 2:
- The Pirates started the game going up 1-0 off a double to left field in the first inning.
- In the second inning, Seton Hall added two more runs, leading 3-0.
- The Pirates had a total of four runs in the third inning extending their lead to 7-0.
- In the final inning, the Pirates scored one more run to end the game, winning 8-0.
- Natasha Solano had a team-high two hits against Seton Hall.
- Sydney Senerchia pitched 2.1 innings with four strikeouts against the PIrates.
