RIVERDALE, NY – For the first time in over a decade, the Saint Peter's University women's volleyball team opened up the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) slate with a victory. The Peacocks' win came against the Manhattan Jaspers on Saturday afternoon, winning 3-1 (25-20, 25-20, 19-25, 25-19) and improving to 3-8 overall and 1-0 in the MAAC on the season.

- The Peacocks found themselves behind 10-15 midway through the opening frame before a four-point rally and five errors by Manhattan would give Saint Peter's a 20-18 advantage.

- Angeleyshka Curbelo was the lone Peacock in double figures with 10 kills; she also led the team with a pair of blocks.

- Four individual Peacocks posted double-digit digs; Alvarado (16), Karla Seda (16), Wildalys Soto (11), and Ruiz (10).
- Soto also led the Peacocks' setters with 24 assists, improving her season's double-double total to five.

- The victory marks the first MAAC-opening win for the program since 2008 and the first conference-opening road win since 2004.
