Men’s Soccer Defeated by UMBC 2-1 in Baltimore

Peacocks fall to Retrievers after early lead

BALTIMORE, MD - The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team continued its season-opening road campaign with a trip to Baltimore to face off against UMBC Friday night. After an early Peacocks lead, the Retrievers would rally back to win the contest 2-1.
 
Game Notes
  • The Peacocks were able to strike first Friday night, with the first goal of the game coming off the boot of junior forward Dominic Laws at 44'.
  • Laws' goal came off a corner kick from Jamie Davis, who would tally his first assist of the season on the play.
  • The success of Saint Peter's would be short lived, however, as UMBC's Tre Pulliam would find the net at the 56' mark after a cross from Alejandro Arbelaez.
  • Shortly thereafter, UMBC's Ryan Becher would net the Retrievers' game winning goal, after a series of missed shots and deflections within the Peacocks' box.
