Opening Word:

The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team is on the road again following a five day rest period, as the team heads to New York to play Iona on Monday (Jan. 20) in a 1 p.m. tip-off.
During their last time, the Peacocks dropped an 81-67 decision to hOURglass rival Monmouth on Jan. 14.
Saint Peter's held an 18-18 tie with Monmouth at the end of the first quarter in their matchup, but consistent scoring and rebounding from the Hawks allowed them to pull away with the game.
Despite having sustained an injury in the Peacocks' previous game against Fairfield, redshirt junior Kendrea Williams came off the bench and put up a team-high 19 points while hitting four shots from beyond the arc.

History with the Gaels:

The Peacocks and the Gaels will line up across the court for the 91st meeting in the series on Monday afternoon.
Saint Peter's enters the game with an impressive 59-31 all-time record against their foes from New Rochelle, having first played on Feb. 22, 1973 and winning that initial matchup 33-27.
The Peacocks will be looking for their first victory over the Gaels since the team took a 56-47 win at home on Jan. 13, 2011.
Also, a win on Monday would be Saint Peter's first in New Rochelle since defeating the Gaels on the road 61-57 on Feb. 24, 2008.

Help off the Bench:

Spurred on by Williams's offensive effort, the Peacocks were able to register 25 points from the bench in their matchup against the Hawks.
The game marked the sixth contest of the season in which the Peacocks bench has contributed at least 25 points.
Twice this season, the Peacocks have gotten 29 points off the bench including their Nov. 17 game against Howard and in their following game on Nov. 26 against Morgan State.
The team's other +25 points off the bench performances came on Nov. 13 against Wagner (26), Nov. 15 against Coppin State (28), and on Dec. 7 against Delaware State (27).

Up Next:

The Peacocks depart for Buffalo this week as the team gets ready to go up against Niagara on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m., followed by a contest at Canisius Jan. 25 at 2 p.m.
