Things to Know Before Sunday's Showdown
Series History
  • The all-time series between Saint Peter's and Fairfield has been the closest series for the Peacocks compared to any other current MAAC team.
  • The Peacocks and Stags are in a deadlock at 59-59 all-time, since the 1950-51 season.
  • Saint Peter's has controlled the matchup recently, winning 10 of the last 15 meetings dating back to the 2013-14 campaign, with two of the wins coming at the MAAC tournament.
  • Over the past five battles between the two programs, the home team has been the victor.
  • In the first season meeting on Jan. 15, the Peacocks fell to the Stags 61-51 in Connecticut.
  • Since that defeat, Saint Peter's has been the hottest MAAC team, winning seven out of its last nine games.
Still Hot at Home
  • Saint Peter's continued its dominance in the Yanitelli Center, improving its overall home record to 8-3 and its MAAC home record to 6-1 on the year.
  • The 8-3 overall home record is the best in a single season since the 2010-11 MAAC Championship squad's mark of 8-3 in the Yanitelli Center and the six conference wins are also the most at home by a Peacock team since 2010-11.
  • This becomes just the ninth time in the 38 MAAC seasons, that the Peacocks have won six or more home conference games --- seven is the program record, which has been achieved twice in 1983-84 and 2004-05.
  • The men from Jersey City are now riding a five-game winning streak at home and the squad has been victorious in eight of the past nine home bouts.

Back on Top
  • Saint Peter's regained sole possession of first place on the MAAC leaderboard, following Friday's league games.
  • This is the first time since Feb. 5 that the Peacocks are alone at the top of the conference standings.
  • The 2019-20 men's basketball conference season remains as one of the tightest league races in recent history.
  • Heading into Sunday, the top four teams are separated by one game.
  • Additionally, all 11 MAAC squads have at least five losses --- since the 2006-07 season, the most losses by a MAAC regular season champion was six defeats.

Season Sweep
  • Following Friday night's win over Quinnipiac, Saint Peter's secured the regular season series sweep over the Bobcats.
  • The win gave the Peacocks their third regular season series sweep over the Bobcats in the past four seasons and improved Saint Peter's all-time record to 11-5 over Quinnipiac.

Next Up
  • Saint Peter's hits the road next week, visiting Manhattan on Friday, Feb. 21.
  • The game will tip at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
