GAME NOTES

Opening Word:
  • The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team closes out its four-game homestand tomorrow night when the Peacocks host current Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) leader Marist. The opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
  • The Peacocks earned another impressive win during their most recent outing on Tuesday night, defeating third-ranked Fairfield in overtime, 66-63.
  • Redshirt junior Kendrea Williams was the biggest producer for the Peacocks in their affair with the Stags, scoring a game-high 22 points while hitting five big shots from beyond the arc.
  • However, it was Taiah Thornton who played the role of hero against the Stags after nailing the game-winning triple with just 2.8 seconds remaining to give the Peacocks their second win over a top-three team in the league over the past two weeks.
History with the Red Foxes:
  • The Peacocks and the Red Foxes will meet in the Yanitelli Center on Thursday for the 53rd contest between the two sides. Saint Peter's enters the contest with an all-time record of 17-35 against Marist.
  • Thursday's game will be the second matchup of the season between the two teams following the Peacocks' 96-76 loss to the Red Foxes in Poughkeepsie on Jan. 4.
  • Despite the loss, four Peacocks finished with double-digit scoring in that matchup, including Thornton, who scored a team-high 23 points in the contest.
  • Saint Peter's is seeking its first home win against Marist since Feb. 26, 2015, when the Peacocks claimed a 66-58 victory in Jersey City.
On the Up and Up:
  • The Peacocks' Feb.18 triumph marks the fifth conference win for the team, the most by the program since 2010-11 when the team also won five.
  • Saint Peter's has now won back-to-back MAAC contests, the first time the feat has been achieved since 2011-12, when the team had consecutive wins over Loyola (MD) and Rider on Jan. 13 & 15.
  • Additionally, the victory marks the eighth overall win for the Peacocks on the season, the most since the team won 10 during the 2009-10 season.
Up Next:
  • The Peacocks will hit the road for a three-game stretch, beginning with a trip to Albany on Saturday to take on Siena for a 7 p.m. tip.
