Opening Tip
  • Saint Peter's travels across the Hudson River on Friday, Feb. 21, visiting Manhattan College.
  • The Peacocks and Jaspers will tip in Riverdale, NY at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
  • Saint Peter's ended last week in sole possession of first-place in the MAAC, with a conference-best 10-5 record.
  • The Peacocks defeated Fairfield on Sunday, 61-44, making the team winners in seven out of the last eight games, including six straight in the Yanitelli Center.
  • Aaron Estrada scored a career-high 20 points, Fousseyni Drame recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and game-high 10 rebounds, and Daryl Banks III scored in double figures for the second consecutive game and seventh time this season with 10 points.
  • This was the second time in as many games, Saint Peter's did not allow its opponent to lead at any point in the contest, controlling the lead for 39:47 in the wire-to-wire win.
 
Things to Know Before Friday's Meeting
Series with Jaspers
  • Saint Peter's and Manhattan meet on Friday night in the 133rd installment dating back to 1922-23.
  • The Peacocks trail the Jaspers, 53-79 all-time and 39-52 as members of the MAAC.
  • Over the last 10 meetings, the teams are an even 5-5.
  • On Jan. 31 when the Peacocks and Jaspers met in Jersey City, Saint Peter's led for over 33 minutes, cruising to a 70-53 home victory.
  • The Peacocks will seek their first season sweep over the Jaspers since 2016-17.
  • In the past decade Saint Peter's is 3-6 in Draddy Gymnasium.
Historic at Home
  • Following last weekend's two home wins, Saint Peter's dominance in the Yanitelli Center continued with the team's overall home record improving to 9-3 and its MAAC home record upgrading to 7-1 on the year.
  • The 9-3 overall home record is the best in a single season for the program since the 2004-05 Peacocks posted a 9-2 home record.
  • Saint Peter's achieved seven home conference wins for only the third time in the program's history, matching the 1983-84 and 2004-05 squads which also won seven MAAC home games.
  • The men from Jersey City are now riding a six-game winning streak at home and the squad has been victorious in nine of the past 10 home bouts.
 
Defensive Force 
  • Saint Peter's has left its mark on the conference defensively in 2019-20.
  • Defensively, the Peacocks sit atop the MAAC leaderboard in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense, and blocked shots, while the team is top-5 in three-point field goal defense, rebounding defense, and steals.
  • In league single-game performances, Saint Peter's defense has posted the conference's best performances in seven opponent low categories --- points (Marist - 40), field goals made (Quinnipiac and Marist - 11), field goals attempted (Marist - 38), field goal percentage (Quinnipiac - .186), three-point field goals made (Fairfield - 1), three-point field percentage (Fairfield - .100), and assists (Fairfield - 4).
  • Moreover, the Peacocks are the only team in the conference with single game blocked shot performances this season of nine (vs. Fairfield), eight (vs. Quinnipiac), and seven (vs. Marist).
 
Keep'em Coming  
  • On Feb. 17, Aaron Estrada earned his second MAAC Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week honor of the season after averaging 17.0 points and 2.5 assists per game during Saint Peter's 2-0 week.
  • The accolade made Estrada the third Peacock this season to be a two-time rookie of the week winner, joining classmates Fousseyni Drame and Hassan Drame; while Daryl Banks III earned one rookie of the week award, giving Saint Peter's seven total for 2019-20. 
  • The seven MAAC rookie honors are a league-best, and the team's seven total weekly awards are tied for the conference lead with Canisius.
