Things to Know Before the Meeting at Canisius
History with Griffs
  • Saint Peter's and Canisius are preparing for the 83rd all-time meeting on Saturday afternoon.
  • Since 1931-32, the Peacocks trail the Golden Griffins 35-47 all-time and since the 1989-90 season, when Canisius joined the MAAC, the Peacocks trail the Griffs 29-36 in the series.
  • Saint Peter's has dropped four in a row to Canisius.
  • The first meeting of the season was back on Jan. 12 in Jersey City, where the Peacocks fell 72-68.
  • The last win in the series for Saint Peter's came in the quarterfinal round of the 2017 MAAC tournament, when Saint Peter's ended Canisius' season with a 61-58 victory.
  • The Peacocks last win over the Griffs in Buffalo came on Feb. 26, 2017 by way of a 72-65 victory.
Seeking More History
  • Entering Saturday's game, Saint Peter's has a win over every league team except Canisius.
  • In the current 11-team MAAC, the program has never defeated every team in the same season --- the Peacocks have also never earned a win over every conference team when the league had 10 teams from 1997-98 to 2013-14.
  • Saint Peter's has only accomplished this twice in the 39 years of the MAAC's existence, both coming when the league only had eight members in 1981-82 and 1983-84.

Next Up
  • The Peacocks will return to New Jersey for the regular-season finale against Iona on Friday, Mar. 6.
  • Following the regular season, Saint Peter's will head to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City for the 2020 MAAC Championship.
