Opening Word:

The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team will head south this weekend as it prepares for a clash with hOURglass rival Monmouth on Saturday (Feb. 8) for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
The Peacocks are coming off a key 67-56 victory over current Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) No. 1 Rider on Thursday, Feb. 6 in Jersey City.
The win broke the Broncs' 14 game winning streak and marked the first time since 2015 that Saint Peter's has defeated Rider on the hardwood.
Sophomore Briyanah Richardson scored a team-high 16 points in the affair while senior Zoe Pero posted her first double-double of the season, dropping 10 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.

History with the Hawks:

The Peacocks will line up across from the Hawks this weekend for the 51st meeting between the two sides, and the second matchup of the hOURglass rivals this season.
In their first game this year, the Hawks took home an 81-67 victory over the Peacocks in Jersey City.
Redshirt junior Taiah Thornton was the Peacocks' leading scorer in the contest, putting up 14 points while also shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc.
Saint Peter's enters Saturday's game looking for its first win in West Long Branch since its 68-63 victory over Monmouth on Dec. 29, 2013.

Shock and Awe:

As of February 6, Rider was the only undefeated team remaining in MAAC play, boasting a 10-0 record throughout their conference schedule.
The Peacocks never trailed in the affair against the Broncs, marking the first game of the 2019-20 season in which Rider has not led in a game at any point.
Saint Peter's held Rider to its lowest three-point shooting performance of the season, allowing the Broncs to hit just 1-of-20 from beyond the arc.
The win marked the third MAAC victory for the Peacocks this season, the program's most since the 2014-15 season in which it garnered four wins.

The Peacocks return to Jersey City for a four-game homestand, starting with Niagara on Thursday, February 13. The opening tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
