GAME NOTES

Opening Word:
  • The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team will head south this weekend as it prepares for a clash with hOURglass rival Monmouth on Saturday (Feb. 8) for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
  • The Peacocks are coming off a key 67-56 victory over current Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) No. 1 Rider on Thursday, Feb. 6 in Jersey City.
  • The win broke the Broncs' 14 game winning streak and marked the first time since 2015 that Saint Peter's has defeated Rider on the hardwood.
  • Sophomore Briyanah Richardson scored a team-high 16 points in the affair while senior Zoe Pero posted her first double-double of the season, dropping 10 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.
History with the Hawks:
  • The Peacocks will line up across from the Hawks this weekend for the 51st meeting between the two sides, and the second matchup of the hOURglass rivals this season.
  • In their first game this year, the Hawks took home an 81-67 victory over the Peacocks in Jersey City.
  • Redshirt junior Taiah Thornton was the Peacocks' leading scorer in the contest, putting up 14 points while also shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc.
  • Saint Peter's enters Saturday's game looking for its first win in West Long Branch since its 68-63 victory over Monmouth on Dec. 29, 2013.
Shock and Awe:
  • As of February 6, Rider was the only undefeated team remaining in MAAC play, boasting a 10-0 record throughout their conference schedule.
  • The Peacocks never trailed in the affair against the Broncs, marking the first game of the 2019-20 season in which Rider has not led in a game at any point.
  • Saint Peter's held Rider to its lowest three-point shooting performance of the season, allowing the Broncs to hit just 1-of-20 from beyond the arc.
  • The win marked the third MAAC victory for the Peacocks this season, the program's most since the 2014-15 season in which it garnered four wins.
Up Next:
  • The Peacocks return to Jersey City for a four-game homestand, starting with Niagara on Thursday, February 13. The opening tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
