Opening Tip
  • After one of the best regular seasons in program history, the second-seeded Saint Peter's men's basketball team begins postseason play at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City in the 2020 Hercules Tires MAAC Basketball Championship.
  • The Peacocks will face No. 7 Iona in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Mar. 11 at 9:30 p.m.
  • Saint Peter's concluded the regular season in second place, following a 14-6 MAAC season and 17-12 overall mark.
  • Last time out, the Peacocks ended the season with a 68-65 home win over Iona, earning the first regular season sweep over the Gaels since the 2008-09 season.
  • Matthew Lee connected on the go-ahead triple with just 3.6 seconds remaining to secure the victory.

Things to Know Before the Before the MAAC Quarterfinals
All-Time Series with Gaels
  • Wednesday night's quarterfinals will be the 124th all-time contest between Saint Peter's and Iona dating back to 1941-42.
  • The Peacocks record against the Gaels stands at 52-71.
  • This season, Saint Peter's snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Gaels, earning the first season sweep over Iona since 2008-09.
  • In the MAAC tournament, the Peacocks trail Iona 3-8, having faced the Gaels the past three seasons. 
  • Saint Peter's last victory over Iona in the tournament came in 2011 MAAC title game, where the Peacocks came away with a 62-57 win.
Peacocks at MAAC Championship
  • The Saint Peter's men's basketball team enters the 39th Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship as the No. 2 overall seed.
  • Saint Peter's will be the No. 2 seed in the MAAC Championship for the fifth time overall, the last time being 2017. 
  • The Peacocks will be making their seventh straight appearance in the quarterfinals and the team enters the round 17-11 all-time. In last season's quarterfinals, No. 9 Saint Peter's fell to top-seed and eventual champion Iona, 73-71. 
  • The Peacocks are 35-36 all-time in the tournament, winning titles in 1991, 1995, and 2011. The Peacocks' seven championship title game appearances are the fifth most among all current and former MAAC members, and the three titles are tied for fourth most amongst current MAAC members.  
  • Saint Peter's will be looking to advance into the MAAC semifinals the third time in the past four seasons.
2019-20 Record Setters
  • Saint Peter's 2019-20 season has been one for the record books.
  • The Peacocks won four out of the five major awards, becoming the only school in MAAC history to win that many awards in one single season.
  • A trio of freshmen were named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team, making the Peacocks the first program in MAAC history to place three rookies on the team.
  • This season's team was the first in program history to defeat every other conference team at least once during the regular season, with the current 11 or 10 team league. 
  • Saint Peter's nine MAAC home victories were the most in program history.
  • The Peacocks had five freshmen win at least one MAAC rookie of the week award, the most individual award winners by any conference school in league history. 
  • Additionally, the five frosh combined to win 10 weekly awards, surpassing the previous Saint Peter's record of nine.

  • With a win, Saint Peter's will advance to the semifinal round on Friday, Mar. 13 at 8:30 p.m. facing the winner of No. 3 Rider and No. 6 Niagara.
