Softball Set for Battle with the Bison on Thursday

Peacocks travel to Howard for a midweek doubleheader

First Up:

The Saint Peter's University softball team remains in the DMV for a doubleheader against the Howard Bisons on Thursday, March 12. The first game of the day is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Peacocks are coming off a sweep over Coppin State on March 11, taking both games in the series by 7-6 and 9-1 margins.
Sophomore Sydney Senerchia and freshman Sophie Wilson were credited with the wins against the Eagles, combining for nine innings pitched and allowing just three runs between the two.
Sophomore Anja Solveig Kane recorded the Peacocks' lone home run of the series, sending a two-run shot over the left field fence to seal the 9-1 victory in five innings during the second game of the day.
Five Peacocks finished the day with multiple RBI's against the Eagles, including Brandi Feeney, Alina Guevara, Bailey Hartman, Anja Solveig Kane, and Katie Sciglimpaglia.

Peacocks against the Bison:

Saint Peter's and Howard enter Thursday's matchup with an even record of 2-2, having first met on the diamond nearly eight years ago to the day on March 14, 2012.
The teams faced off twice last season for a doubleheader in D.C. in a series which was also split 1-1. The Bison took the first victory with a 5-3 decision, but the Peacocks rallied in game two and defeated Howard 7-3.
Both Alina Guevara and Alyssa Mido recorded RBI's in last year's contests and will look to add to their stats against the Bison on Thursday.
A win tomorrow would be the Peacocks' best start through 14 games since the program started 6-8 in 2009.

The Peacocks return to the Garden State for a doubleheader at Fairleigh Dickinson on March 9, with games at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
