First Up:
- The Saint Peter's University softball will head back down south to Virginia this weekend as it prepares to take part in the 2020 Pirate Invitational from March 6-8.
- The Peacocks will meet Drexel, Delaware, Hampton, Norfolk State, and UMBC in the multi-team tournament.
- Most recently, the Peacocks faced off against UMES in a doubleheader on March 4, dropping both contests but forcing extra innings in the second exchange.Â
- Senior Alina Guevara, along with freshmen Brandi Feeney and Cara McNulty all finished with multiple RBIs on the day, while Feeney and sophomore Anja Solveig Kane each batted .500 through two games against the Hawks.
- The Peacocks had some solid pitching performances in their games against the Hawks, with freshmen Kristen Brennan and Sophie Wilson allowing just two runs through four innings pitched for each player.
- Heading into the Hampton/Norfolk Tournament, Saint Peter's will line up against the likes of hosts Hampton and Norfolk, as well as Delaware, Drexel, and UMBC.
Peacocks against the Field
- The Peacocks enter this weekend's tournament with a combined record of 18-28 against the Pirate Invitational field.
- Against Delaware, Saint Peter's holds a 3-8 record and will look for its first win over the Blue Hens since winning by way of a 6-3 decision at home on April 24, 2013.
- The Peacocks hold an even 3-3 split all-time against tournament host Hampton, as the Peacocks look to take the advantage in the series.
- Saint Peter's will be looking for its first win in its series against Drexel, currently 0-7 against the Dragons.
- The Peacocks are a perfect 5-0 against host Norfolk State, and will look to stay perfect this weekend.
- To round out the weekend, Saint Peter's will go up against UMBC. The Peacocks' all-time mark currently stands at 8-10 against the Retrievers.
