Opening Word: 
  • The Saint Peter's University women's basketball will hit the road this weekend as they travel to hOURglass rival Rider from Jan. 16-17. Both games are scheduled for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
  • Most recently, Saint Peter's dropped their home series against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponent Quinnipiac. The Peacocks fell in their initial matchup against the Bobcats on Jan. 9 by a score of 55-40, while Saint Peter's dropped their Jan. 10 contest 68-56.
  • Redshirt-senior Taiah Thornton was the top producer for the Peacocks in the series, averaging 13 points and 7.5 rebounds over the two-game stretch.
  • The Peacocks will look to get back to a winning conference record this weekend as they currently hold a .500 record in conference play.
History with the Broncs: 
  • The Peacocks and the Broncs will meet for the 70th outing in the series on Saturday, as Saint Peter's enters the weekend with a 43-26 advantage all-time against their hOURglass rivals.
  • The two teams split their regular season series last season, as the Peacocks knocked off the then-undefeated Broncs at home on Feb. 6, 2020 by a 67-56 margin. The Broncs then got the upper hand in Lawrenceville on March 5, taking a 72-52 win.
  • Saint Peter's enters this weekend seeking its first road win at Alumni Gymnasium since the blue and white won 65-54 at Rider on Jan. 15, 2012.
  • Saint Peter's head coach Marc Mitchell will also be looking for his first road win against the Broncs since taking over in 2018-19.
Peacock Milestones:
  • Thornton enters this weekend poised to eclipse 1,000 career points. The Pennsauken native has tallied 995 points thus far between her time at FDU Florham and Saint Peter's, while having scored 603 points during her time in the blue and white.
  • Freshman forward Sky Castro has been getting it done on the boards for the Peacocks this year, as the rooke currently sits as one of only two players in the conference with 100+ rebounds, collecting her 108th on the season following the team's Jan. 10 matchup against Quinnipiac.
  • Castro's classmate Ajia James looks to eclipse the 100 rebound mark this weekend, as she enters the series against the Broncs with 93 rebounds on the season.

  • The Peacocks' will return home for the next series against Siena, which is set to take place from Jan. 22-23. Both games are slated for 8 p.m. start times.
