Women’s Soccer Loses to Iona on Wednesday Afternoon

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team lost to Iona College by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon. 

Game Notes:

• Freshman forward Julianna Jatkola tested the Iona goalkeeper early on in the fifth minute, as her right footed attempt was saved.
• In the 23rd minute senior midfielder Stephanie Radakovic tried her luck from distance, but her shot was stopped.
• Radakovic rattled the post with a penalty shot at the 28 minute mark.
• The score remained tied 0-0 at halftime.
• Freshman goalkeeper Annabelle Adams made two saves within a minute early on in the second half to keep the score tied.
• Iona converted on a free kick just outside the box to take a 1-0 lead.
• Saint Peter's were unable to score the tying goal, as the Gaels held on to win.

Inside the Numbers:

• The Peacocks registered ten shots. Radakovic led the team with two.
• Three of the ten Peacock shots were on target. Jatkola led the way with two.
• Adams made four saves.
• Senior midfielder Jessica Auvil and freshman midfielder Lula Mansilla Medina were issued yellow cards.

• The Peacocks finish their homestand in Jersey City on Saturday, October 16, as they host the Manhattan Jaspers, with kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m.
