Karla Seda of the Saint Peter's University women's volleyball team has been voted to the 2020-21 Preseason All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Team, announced by the league office today. In the Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Peacocks were picked to finish 10th after receiving 14 votes.
Seda, the 2019 MAAC leader in total digs and digs per set, earned the first all-conference honor of her stellar career. The defensive specialist from Toa Baja, Puerto Rico ranked 13th nationally with 596 total digs and her 5.37 digs per set was also the 13th best amongst the NCAA ranks last season. Seda's 2019 digs per set average tied the program's single season record, while her total digs mark was second on the program's all-time single season list. Entering 2020-21, she sits in fourth place in Saint Peter's record book for all-time career digs (1,388). Seda's preseason all-league selection marks the second consecutive season that the Peacocks have had a representative on the preseason MAAC team, with her joining Karen Ramiu who was selected to the 2019 squad.

Joe Chojnacki will look to improve it's 2019 MAAC output after posting a 1-17 league mark, while going 3-27 overall. The Peacocks also return the veteran trio of
Angeleyshka Curbelo,
Stephanie Rivera, and
Wildalys Soto, who each appeared in all 30 matches during 2019 in addition to Seda. Curbelo and Rivera are the squad's top returning scorers from a year ago after ranking second and third in points respectively. Soto anchored the offense as the team's primary setter, leading the Peacocks in assists while ranking sixth in the MAAC in the category.
