JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Due to a rise in positive COVID-19 tests on campus over the past two weeks, and out of an abundance of caution for the health and well-being of student-athletes, coaches and staff, the Saint Peter's University athletics department will immediately undergo a pause of all activities through March 22. The decision was made in consultation with the university administration, including the Office of Health Services, as well as local and state health officials.
All varsity athletics programs affected by the pause will have any competition scheduled during that time period postponed and attempted to be rescheduled. This pause will include all team and individual training sessions. At the conclusion of the pause, teams will safely return to athletics activity under the supervision of the department's medical personnel.
