JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's volleyball duo of
Stephanie Rivera and
Wildalys Soto were among a group of university personnel that assisted in planting a tree in the Quad for the national holiday, Arbor Day on Friday, April 30.
The University hosted a tree planting ceremony in honor of National Arbor Day, a secular day of observance in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant trees. The ceremony took place on the east side of the Quad and included a blessing by Rev. Andrew Downing, S.J., vice president for mission and ministry, and university president, Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D. was among the group of participants. Saint Peter's also expressed its gratitude to Brightview, the university landscaper, for generously donating the tree.
