Cillie Sweeps; Davis Continues 100 Back Win Streak in Swimming & Diving’s Meet against Wagner

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's swimming and diving kicked off 2022 with a meet against Wagner, as the men's team earned its fourth dual win of the season.

Junior Luke Cillie led the way for the Peacocks with two individual event wins, as well as taking part in two relay team teams for a perfect four-for-four outing in his races. Senior Natalie Davis stayed undefeated in the 100-yard backstroke this season, clocking her fourth consecutive victory in the event.

Top Performances
  • The Peacocks men's quartet (Luke Cillie, Oleksiy Polishchuk, Yann Le Gall, David Dolgitzer) swept the relays against Wagner, winning the 200-yard medley relay (1:37.09) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.56). Saint Peter's has had the winner in seven of its last eight men's relays.
  • Cillie's strong outing included first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.09) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:58.85), alongside his performances in the two relays.
  • Davis swam her third sub-one minute time this season in the 100-yard backstroke (59.82), registering her sixth individual win of the season and fourth in the event.
  • Yann Le Gall notched a career-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (56.34) to finish in first place. The senior had two relay victories and a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (48.46) on the day.
  • Thomas Granet scored his third individual first place finish of the season by touching the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.18).
  • Brendan Vieira earned his first collegiate win in the 100-yard butterfly (56.26).
  • Oleksiy Polishchuk won for the ninth time in 12 races with a first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.55). He has finished no lower than second place in any race and is undefeated in breastroke events.

The Peacocks are back in the pool on Saturday for the team's Senior Meet. The season finale at the Yanitelli Center gets underway at noon, while senior ceremonies begin at 11:45 a.m.
