Men’s Relays, Davis Stretch Win Streaks in Swimming & Diving’s Meet with Monmouth

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's swimming and diving has now won nine of its last 10 men's relay races, including all eight in the last four meets, after another sweep of those events against Monmouth.

Senior Natalie Davis has a win streak of her own in the backstroke, winning her first 200 Back of the season to make it five consecutive wins in the discipline. 

Top Performances
  • Saint Peter's used a trio of seniors and a junior (Oleksiy Polishchuk, Yann Le Gall, David Dolgitzer, and Luke Cillie) to win both the 400-yard medley relay (3:31.50) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:10.33). Both times are season bests.
  • Natalie Davis has not lost a backstroke race since the opening meet of the season, winning the 200-yard backstroke (2:12.26) by nearly a second-and-a-half. She also scored a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.09).
  • Oleksiy Polishchuk stayed undefeated in the breaststroke with season-bests in the 100 Breast (57.87) and the 200 Breast (2:07.28). His 100 Breast time is the second-fastest of his collegiate career, just 12-hundreths of a second off his personal best.
  • Senior Evangelia Vasilakis was the top point scorer in the 200-yard IM (2:42.92).
  • Alongside his relay contributions, Luke Cillie also notched two second-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (21.92) and the 100-yard breaststroke (58.97).
  • Junior Noelle Sprenkle clocked in a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (58.00).
  • Senior Thomas Granet notched second-place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.77) and 200-yard individual medley (2:00.31).
  • The women's 400-yard freestyle relay team (Natalie Davis, Evangelia Vasilakis, Devyn Hantgin, and Noelle Sprenkle) took home the top point total in the event with a time of 4:01.34.

The Peacocks have wrapped their regular season and are now preparing for the 2022 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day conference meet, running Feb. 9-12, is taking place at Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y.
