Cillie Breaks School Record for Third Medal at 2022 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Saint Peter's junior Luke Cillie continued his stellar 2022 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships with his third medal of the meet – matching his total from the previous league championships in 2020.

His performance was part of a three-medal day that helped the Peacocks finish with eight medals at the meet.

Top Performances
  • Cillie came within one-hundredth of a second of his previous Saint Peter's school record (44.81) in the preliminaries before breaking it in the final with a time of 44.73 to take the silver medal in the event – his third of the championships. He finished no lower than second place in any event. He owns three individual school records (100-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley).
  • Senior Yann Le Gall scored his first medal of the MAAC Championships with a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (45.70).
  • Graduate student Oleksiy Polishchuk earned his third medal of the MAAC Championships with his sixth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:04.28).
  • Senior Natalie Davis made her second final of the championships, scoring points for the Peacocks with a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.71).
  • The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team (Cillie, Le Gall, Polishchuk, David Dolgitzer) came within one-hundredth of a second of a medal – finishing in fourth with a time of 3:02.10.
  • The women's 400-yard freestyle relay team (Davis, Noelle Sprenkle, Devyn Hantgin, Evangelia Vasilakis) posted a season-best (3:44.90) to finish in 10th place.
