- The Peacocks are coming off a doubleheader split against Manhattan on Thursday afternoon to earn their 20th victory of the season.
- Marist will head into the contest after dropping three of their last four matchups against Rider and Lafayette at home while the Gaels picked up a doubleheader sweep of Quinnipiac on Sunday before dropping a single midweek game against St. John's on Wednesday.
- Prior to the contest against Iona, SPU will honor seniors Marissa Morales, Taylor Rondon, Katie Sciglimpagalia Sydney Senerchia and Anja Solveig Kane for their contributions to Peacock softball.
Looking Back at Manhattan
- In a season filled with historic moments, the Peacocks added another to their already impressive ledger as they took down Manhattan 5-4 in game one before dropping game two 7-4 to reach the 20-win milestone for the first time since 2007.
- Freshman Dakota Pitts continued to swing a hot bat in the doubleheader as she finished the day 4 for 7 with two doubles and five RBIs.
- Olyvia Smith also had a strong day going 3 for 8 with an RBI and two runs scored as she became the second Peacock this season to reach the 50-hit milestone.
- Katie Sciglimpaglia and Samantha Miller both produced single hits in both games on the day as the duo combined for four hits in 12 at-bats.
- Nicole Antuna picked up her team-best sixth win in the circle in game one giving up two runs on three hits across 5.0 innings of work.
- Kristen Brennan came on in relief and picked up her first career save after allowing two runs over the final two frames.
- Aubrey Ketcham was on base all day as she reached safely four times in eight plate appearances scoring four runs in the doubleheader while also swiping two bases.
Inside the Numbers
- Cara McNulty is the team-leader in batting average hitting .327 while ranking inside the top-10 in the MAAC in both hits and RBIs.
- Ketcham, Pitts and Miller have been all fantastic at the plate in MAAC contests this season. In conference games, the trio are all hitting at over .360 combining for 20 RBI, 14 runs scored and nine extra base hits in just 16 games.
- In the circle, Antuna leads the team with a 3.95 ERA in her first season with the Peacocks. Antuna now has six victories on the season, the most in a single season of any SPU pitcher since Tricia Reingle had seven in the 2009 season.
- The win for the Peacocks over Manhattan was the program's first win over the Jaspers since a 5-2 win on April 12, 2008. Additionally, it is the first road win at Manhattan since a doubleheader sweep in the Bronx on April 7, 2007.
- Pitts is now hitting a whopping .378 in conference games this season with three doubles, 13 RBI and a .556 slugging percentage. Her 12 doubles this season is tied for the third-most of any player in the MAAC.
- Smith became the second Peacock to reach the 50-hit milestone after her multi-hit performance. After McNulty was able to do the same on Wednesday against Howard, it is the first time since 2006 that two SPU players have joined the 50-hit club.
- The five MAAC wins are the most of any Saint Peter's team since 2008.Â
- SPU has been dynamite defensively this season ranking second in the MAAC and 49th in the country with a .970 fielding percentage on the year.
- As a team, the Peacocks have now hit 15 home runs this season to top their total from the entirety of the 2021 and 2020 seasons.
- SPU will head into Tuesday's doubleheader with 20 wins, the most victories since recording 22 in the 2007 season.
