JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Saint Peter's University men's basketball program, along with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), announced today the 2022-23 league schedule. The 20-game MAAC ledger for Saint Peter's men's basketball will tip off in early December.
The defending champs will start their MAAC slate on Thursday, Dec. 1 at home, as Mount St. Mary's plays their first ever MAAC conference game at Run Baby Run Arena. Two days later on Saturday, Dec. 3, the team will visit the Fairfield Stags. The Peacocks close out the calendar year with Quinnipiac (Sunday, Dec. 18) and Manhattan (Friday, Dec. 30) at home.
The 2023 calendar year will begin on the road at Iona (Sunday, Jan. 2), the team who won the MAAC Regular Season Championship last year. That game is followed by a road clash against Siena (Friday, Jan. 6) The Peacocks then make a quick pitstop at home as they host Canisius (Sunday, Jan. 8) before hitting the road again for round two against Quinnipiac (Friday, Jan. 13).
The middle of January starts with a home game against Fairfield (Sunday, Jan. 15) followed by a trip to New York to take on Marist (Friday, Jan. 20). The Peacocks then return home to take on Niagara (Sunday, Jan. 22) before playing their first ever road conference game against Mount St. Mary's (Saturday, Jan. 28).
February kicks off with a road contest at nearby rival Rider (Friday, Feb. 3). The Peacocks then have a week off before hosting Marist (Friday, Feb. 10). Saint Peter's then makes the short trip to Riverdale, NY for a matchup with Manhattan (Sunday, Feb. 12). Following that, Saint Peter's has another week off before welcoming the Iona Gaels (Sunday, Feb. 19) to Run Baby Run Arena. The team then closes out the month with the Buffalo road trip against Canisius (Friday, Feb. 24) and Niagara (Sunday, Feb. 26).
Only two games are on the docket for the month of March and they will both be played in Jersey City. The Peacocks welcome both Rider (Thursday, Mar. 2) and Siena (Saturday, Mar. 4) to close out the regular season.
The 2022-23 campaign will conclude with the 2022 MAAC Men's & Women's Basketball Championships from March 7-11 in Atlantic City, NJ. Historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall will once again play host to the championships for the fourth-straight season.
