JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's volleyball team competed at the Yanitelli Center in a match versus Fairfield (19-6). The Peacocks fell three sets to none.
Match Notes
- SPU senior Skylee Nelson led the Peacocks with seven kills.
- Saint Peter's freshman Samantha Trujillo converted a team-high two service aces.
- Lilly Konrad distributed double-digit assists with 11. This marked the fourth consecutive game Konrad has passed for over ten assists.
- At the net, Elena Bilhartz tallied five blocks.
- The Stags won a close opening set 26-24. In a tight opening set, SPU went on a 3-0 run highlighted by a service ace from Trujillo and a kill from Mackenzie Tucker, and took a 9-7 advantage. Later in the set, Bilhartz delivered a kill which gave the Peacocks a 24-23 lead. The Stags took the next three consecutive points and pulled out the set.
- After another service ace from Trujillo in the second set, the Peacocks trailed 6-5. Fairfield answered back with a 14-0 run. The Stags won the second set 25-6.
- In the third set, Fairfield jumped out to a 12-6 advantage and and won the last five consecutive points in the set which closed it out at 25-10.
Next, the Peacocks host Quinnipiac (17-8) on senior day at the Yanitelli Center on Sunday Nov. 12 at 1PM.
