JERSEY CITY, NJ. - Sophie Wilson from Saint Peter's softball will return to the team as a fifth-year senior. The New Jersey native recently started first-year as a kindergarten teacher at Primary Prep Elementary and Middle School in Jersey City. This is where Wilson completed her student teaching during her undergraduate studies.
The SPU standout boosts the Peacocks pitching rotation for the upcoming season. Wilson tallied 7 strikeouts and 10 RBI's last year.
"Returning to play SPU softball was an opportunity that I never imagined. Everything fell into place at the right time and having the ability to come back and play was ideal. I wanted to take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and run with it. It is such a unique scenario and I didn't want to regret not taking that chance."
Wilson graduated in May 2023 from Saint Peter's, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K-6. Additionally, Wilson will pursue her Master's Degree at Saint Peter's in Educational Leadership.
