Women's Basketball Host Mount St. Mary's At Run Baby Run Arena Thursday Afternoon

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball team is set to host Mount St. Mary's on Thursday, January 25th. Tip-off is scheduled at 1 pm. You can watch the live stream of the game on ESPN+.


ABOUT SAINT PETER'S
The Peacocks are off to a 4-12 start with wins over Marist, CCSU, Hampton, and LIU. All wins have come by double-digits. Sophomore guard Jada Leonard leads the Peacocks in scoring, averaging 12.1 per game. Freshman forward Fatmata Janneh leads the team in rebounds, averaging 7.1 per game.

Janneh posted 17 points and 11 rebounds against LIU, her second career double-double. Later in the season, Janneh secured her third career double-double, with a total of 21 points and 12 rebounds against Wagner.

In the Peacocks' last game against Iona, Janneh was the leading scorer for the Peacocks with 28 points and was 5-of-9 from beyond the three point arc. This was also a new career-high for Janneh. Freshman center Carys Roy also contributed to the Peacocks' efforts with 10 points, while junior forward Layla Laws chipped in with nine. In all, the Peacocks grabbed 26 rebounds and forced nine turnovers.


ABOUT MOUNT ST. MARY'S
The Mount St. Mary's Women's Basketball team enters the game with a record of 5-11. They are currently 2-5 in the MAAC.

Senior Guard Jessica Tomasetti has had four career 20-point games. The Mountaineers set a season high of 14 steals in their second to last game against Marist. The Mount ranks 39th in the nation for three-point defensive percentage and just outside the top 100 teams in the country for scoring defense. 

Junior guard Jo Raflo leads the team in points per game with an average of 12.8. Senior forward Isabella Hunt leads the team in rebounds averaging 8.1 per game.

 

THE SERIES
This is the 3rd matchup in history between the Mountaineers and the Peacocks. The all-time series is 2-0 in favor of the Mountaineers.
