BRONX, NY- The Saint Peter's cross country team competed at ECAC/IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday.
Freshman Shirleysa Rivas led the way for the Peacocks in the women's 6k. She finished the race with a time of 27:09.7. This is Rivas' fourth consecutive race, where she was the highest-placed female finisher for SPU. Not too far behind her was fellow freshman Paulina Nunez, who completed the 6k with a time of 32:08.4.
Yale placed first in the overall team standings, and Fairfield's freshman Hannah Snayd claimed first with a time of 20:41.9.
Senior Gerardo Quaglia was the highest placed Peacock of the day. Quaglia completed the 8k with a time of 27:40.4 and took 211th out of 261 runners. This marks Quaglia's fourth consecutive meet, where he is the top finisher for Saint Peter's. Not far behind him was senior Brendan Heaney, who finished the race with a time of 29:17.0. Freshman Nicholaus Micheal completed the race in 31:06.0, and directly behind him was fellow freshman Solomon Dunham (31:36.2). Luis Romero finished the race in 32:41.1, and closing out for the Peacocks was freshman Kenneth Montes who crossed the finish line with a time of 34:23.3.
George Mason University claimed first place in the men's 8k, and Wesley Bond from GMU took first with a time of 24:29.0.

The Saint Peter's cross country team travels to Montgomery, New York for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships. The meet will take place between all twelve MAAC schools on Saturday, Nov. 2.
