NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.- Saint Peter's University Swimming & Diving lost to Iona University in both men's and women's competitions on Saturday afternoon at the Hynes Center Pool.
On the men's side, the Peacocks suffered a 180-103 loss to the Gaels. The women's team lost to Iona, 162-94.
Juan Nunez captured the first-place finish in the Men's 500-Yard Freestyle heat. Nunez's time was 4:51.42. The women's team dominated the 500-yard butterfly race with top three finishes in that heat for
Sophie Doran,
Makayla Noe, and
Niela Dawlett. In the Men's 400-Yard Freestyle Relay heat, Saint Peter's took home the top two finishes. The first-place relay team included
Austin Arnold,
Aleksa Vujosevic,
Victor Fuentes, and
Alexey Tselichtchev. This team recorded a finals time of 3:17.48. The second-place team featured Saint Peter's
Tristan Raso, Jerrion Netwon,
Paxton Gibson, and
Joseph Schoenhals.
Saint Peter's returns to the Imperatore Swimming & Diving Center on Saturday, Nov. 23 against Sacred Heart University and Merrimack College in a tri-meet.
