Box Score WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball program fell to Monmouth University by a score of 59-50 on Tuesday evening. The squad had a total of 21 rebounds and 10 steals.

WHAT HAPPENED
Senior forward Layla Laws opened up the floor for the Peacocks with a driving layup. The Hawks turned over the ball to the Peacocks, allowing graduate student Laila Grant to score beyond the three-point arc. Junior guard Louella Allana had a triple, while Laws scored beyond the three-point arc. Freshman forward Linda Amaning scored in the paint, while sophomore guard Emily O'Connell had a pair of jumpers. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 18-17 Saint Peter's.
Grant got the Peacocks rolling at the start of the second quarter with back-to-back three-pointers. Allana contributed two points to the squad, while freshman De'Naya Rippey had a triple. To end the half, Grant made a second-chance three-point jumper. At half the score was 33-27 Saint Peter's.
During the start of the third quarter, Louella Allana shot beyond the three-point arc. Layla Laws scored in the paint with a second-chance jumper.
During the Peacock's final stretch, Rippey made a second chance layup. Laws followed up with a fast-breaking layup off an opponent turnover. Amaning shot beyond the three-point arc.
UP NEXT
The Peacocks continue the regular season with a non-conference matchup on Sunday, Dec. 1 as the team faces NJIT in their home opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
