JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's Men's Basketball team hosts Marist (15-9, 10-5 MAAC) at Run Baby Run Arena on Sunday, Feb. 25.
Overview
The Peacocks are on a three-game winning streak after they defeated Siena (Feb. 16), Iona (Feb. 18), and most recently, Mount St. Mary's (Feb. 23). In the Peacocks' 70-65 win over MSM, Corey Washington scored a team-high 25 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. SPU outscored MSM 19-8 in the final five minutes of the game and swept the season series against the Mountaineers for the first time in program history.
Saint Peter's (14-11, 10-6 MAAC) is fourth in the MAAC standings behind Marist (15-9, 10-5 MAAC), Fairfield (16-10, 10-5 MAAC), and Quinnipiac (19-6, 11-3 MAAC). With a win Sunday, the Peacocks would move up to third in the MAAC standings.
Defense
This is a matchup of two elite defensive programs. Saint Peter's is ranked 14th in the nation in scoring defense. The Peacocks have held opponents to 63.7 points per game. The Red Foxes are sixth in the nation in scoring defense (61.4 points per game). Saint Peter's is 8-0 when they've held opponents to under 60 points this season.
Corey Washington
Washington leads the Peacocks in scoring and rebounding this season with 15.5 points per game, and 6.1 rebounds per game. The reigning MAAC Player of the Week has averaged 24 points per game, and eight rebounds per game in February. The 6-6 forward from Arkansas has scored 20+ points in seven games, and has tallied three double-doubles this season.
Marcus Randolph
During the Peacocks' winning streak, Randolph has shot efficiently from beyond the arc. The University of Richmond transfer has knocked down at least three three-pointers and shot over 60% from downtown in three straight games.
Latrell Reid
Reid has distributed a team-high 106 assists this season. The New Jersey native is fourth in the MAAC with 4.2 assists per game.
Marist
The Red Foxes are on a five-game winning streak, and took down Manhattan on the road 57-50. Max Allen II leads Marist in scoring with 11.9 points per game. Marist's Javon Cooley is second in the MAAC in three-point percentage (.446), followed by Kam Farris. Farris is shooting .429 from beyond the arc, which is third in the MAAC.

Saint Peter's is 38-27 all-time versus Marist.
