Norfolk, Va.- Saint Peter's Baseball fell to Norfolk State University, 12-9, on Friday afternoon at Marty L. Miller Field.
Game Notes
- It was a game that fell away from Saint Peter's in the back half of the contest.
- Norfolk State went on an offensive surge in the fifth inning and held onto that lead for the last four innings.
- Through the first five innings, Brendon Wilson's two home runs helped extend the Peacocks' lead to 8-0.
- Tyler Cotten also contributed his own solo home run to the box score in the fifth inning.
- That was Cotten's sixth home run of the season.
- Unfortunately for Saint Peter's, that lead evaporated when Norfolk State scored 11 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
- Jalan Jones knocked a double down the left field line, which scored Norfolk State's 12th run of the afternoon in the seventh.
- Following Friday's loss, Saint Peter's dropped to a 2-7 season record.
Saint Peter's will be playing the last two games of the series against Norfolk State on Saturday and Sunday.
