JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's Softball Team (3-5) travels to Delaware State (3-2) for a three-game series. The first game is on Sunday, Mar. 3 at 3PM. Monday will be a doubleheader with game one at 12PM.
The Peacocks (3-5) went 2-2 last week. Saint Peter's swept their doubleheader at UMES (4-5) on Thursday, Feb. 22. Saint Peter's defeated the Hawks 5-1 in game one and 11-7 in the second game. At the plate, Sydney Ordnorff went 2-4 with 2 RBIs in both games. Saint Peter's pitchers Kristen Brennan (7IP, 3H,3K,0ER) and SPU freshman Angelina Wagner each picked up a win. The Peacocks dropped both games in their doubleheader at Central Connecticut State (8-0) on Feb. 25. Cara McNulty hit two home runs for the Peacocks.
The Hornets are on a three-game winning streak after they defeated Bowie State University 10-1 and swept Thomas Jefferson University in a doubleheader on Tuesday, Feb. 27. DSU outfielder Uxua Lopez Modrego is batting .312 this year with four home runs and 24 RBIs.
Saint Peter's is currently sixth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings. SPU freshman. Dakota Pitts is batting a team-high .385 at the plate this season. SPU's Jess Forte and McNulty have hit a team-high two home runs this season.
Saint Peter's is 5-2 all-time versus Delaware State.
