Villanova, Pa.- Saint Peter's Baseball defeated Villanova University, 5-2, on Wednesday afternoon at Villanova Ballpark.
Game Notes
- The Peacocks poured on the offense late in the game, which was enough to secure the three-run win over Villanova.
- The last time Saint Peter's defeated a Big East opponent was St. John's in April 2016. Coincidentally, Saint Peter's last win over Villanova came in March 2016.
- Marcus Monroe picked up the win with seven scoreless innings pitched.
- Drew DelCollo earned the save for the Peacocks.
- Ashby Vining cemented the win with a two-run double in the eighth inning.
- Villanova's lone run came in the first inning off of a throwing error.
- Prior to conference play, Saint Peter's jumped to 6-16 on the season.
On Friday, Saint Peter's will host Marist College in the first of a three-game series at 3 p.m.
