LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ. - The Saint Peter's Softball team split its non-conference doubleheader Friday at Rider (7-15).

Game 1 - Rider - 4 | Saint Peter's - 3
The Peacocks had 12 hits in the first game of Friday's doubleheader. Saint Peter's led 3-1 through three innings. In the top of the first, Sydney Orndorff hit a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Olivia Christopher pinch ran for Orndorff. Dakota Pitts delivered Christopher home with an RBI double. Kaitlynn Peters followed up with an RBI double to right field, and SPU went up 2-0. In the top of the third, Cara McNulty hit an RBI double to center field, followed by an RBI single from Peters. Peters finished the game 3-4 with two RBIs.Â
Rider closed out the game with four straight runs. Rider's Kendall Reda-Fehsal brought in a run on a sacrifice fly. The Broncs scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Rider outfielder Maddie Luedtke tied the game at 3-3 with a triple. Jadeyn Merrill hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.Â
Game 2 Saint Peter's - 9 | Rider - 7Â
At the plate, McNulty went 3-4 with a home run and four RBIs.Â
McNulty blasted a three-run home run in the top of the third inning. SPU's Kaylee Lacomb and Orndorff both hit singles prior. McNulty leads the Peacocks in home runs this season with four.
Rider's Luedtke tied it up at 3-3 with a three-run home run. The Broncs added two more runs before the Peacocks scored five unanswered. Down 6-3, in the top of the fifth, Lacomb walked to first base and advanced to second on a ground out. McNulty hit an RBI single.Â
Pitts brought in McNulty with an RBI double to right center. Isabella Chugranis pinch-ran for Pitts, and Peters scored Chugranis with an RBI single down the infield line. Saint Peter's trailed 6-6 at the end of the fifth inning.Â
In the top of the sixth inning, Orndorff gave Saint Peter's a 7-6 advantage with an RBI single up the middle. Later in the inning, Lacomb scored on a fielding error, and the Peacocks led 8-6.Â
SPU added one more run in the top of the seventh. With runners on first and third Maiah Skakal delivered an RBI single. SPU pitcher Angelina Wagner picked up the win. Wagner pitched four innings and gave up one earned run with two strikeouts.Â
The Peacocks moved to 9-11 on the season. Next, Saint Peter's hosts FDU on Tuesday, Mar. 26.Â
