JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's Softball team split its doubleheader against FDU (11-13) at Jaroschak Field on Tuesday. The Peacocks moved to 10-12 on the season.

Game 1 - Saint Peter's - 4 | FDU - 3
Kasidy Slusser pitched in relief and picked up her first win of the season. The Peacocks took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first after an RBI double from Dakota Pitts. The Knights answered back with a home run, and the game was tied 1-1. In the bottom of the fourth inning, with Maiah Skakal on second base, Jess Forte smacked an RBI double down the third base line. Saint Peter's senior Kaylee Lacomb brought in Forte with an RBI single, and SPU led 3-1.
The Knights tied the game up at 3-3 in the top of the fifth inning. A fielder's choice brought the Knights within one, followed by an RBI single from Ayden Stone. Saint Peter's scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Cara McNulty got on base with her sixth double of the year. Skakal delivered an RBI single to the outfield and advanced to second on the throw-in from FDU. In the bottom of the seventh, Slusser pitched a 1-2-3 inning, and the Peacocks picked up their 10th win of the season.
Game 2 - FDU - 3 | Saint Peter's - 2
Morgan Lipansky pitched a complete game for the Peacocks and struck out two batters. At the plate, Skakal went 2-3 with two RBIs. SPU freshman Zailees Seda went 2-3 with one run scored. Stone opened the game with an RBI single at the top of the first, and the Peacocks trailed 1-0. Saint Peter's scored its runs in game two in the bottom of the first inning. With runners on second and third, Skakal hit a two-RBI single, which gave the Peacocks a 2-1 advantage.
In the top of the fourth inning, FDU junior Sydney Newton hit a two-run home run over the left field wall, putting FDU ahead led 3-2. The Peacocks had bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, but left runners stranded as the Knights took the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.
It will be a quick turnaround for the Saint Peter's Softball team (10-12). The Peacocks host Wagner (3-12) on Wednesday, Mar. 27 at Jaroschak Field.
