JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's softball team dropped its doubleheader against Wagner Wednesday at Jaroschak Field.

Game 1 - Wagner - 16 | Saint Peter's - 2 (5 innings)
Kaylee Lacomb batted .500 at the plate, and hit a two-RBI double in the bottom of the second inning. The Seahawks scored nine runs in the fourth inning highlighted by two home runs. Wagner's Sydney Trujillo hit a grand slam for the Seahawks' final runs of the game.
Game 2 - Wagner - 6 | Saint Peter's - 4
Wagner's Payton Janicki went 2-4 at the plate with three RBIs. The Peacocks scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning. Sydney Orndorff started the inning off with a triple to center field. It was Orndorff's second career triple. SPU freshman Zailees Seda brought Orndorff home with an RBI double. Later in the inning, Maiah Skakal hit an RBI single with a runner on first and third, and the Peacocks took a 2-1 advantage. The Seahawks scored three unanswered runs and led 5-2. Cara McNulty hit her fifth home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning. Janicki extended Wagner's lead to 6-3 with an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning. In the final inning, an RBI double from Dakota Pitts cut the Saint Peter's deficit to 6-4. Following Pitt's double, Wagner sealed the game with three straight outs.
Next, Saint Peter's begins conference play with a three-game series this weekend against Fairfield (4-19). The Peacocks host the Stags in a doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 29, and one game on Saturday, Mar. 30, at Jaroschak Field.
