JERSEY CITY, NJ. —The Saint Peter's Softball team faces in-state opponent FDU in a doubleheader on Tuesday, Mar. 26, at Jaroschak Field. The first game begins at 1PM.
Last week, the Peacocks split its doubleheader at Rider on Friday, Mar. 22. In SPU's 9-7 victory over the Broncs in game two, Cara McNulty went 3-4 (.750) with one home run and four RBIs.
Saint Peter's is 9-11 on the season. The Peacocks are third in the MAAC in batting, with an average of .291. SPU's Kaitlynn Peters has the second-highest batting average in the MAAC at .419. Peters has hit a team-high six doubles. McNulty leads the Peacocks in home runs this season with four. The SPU standout is fifth in the MAAC in RBIs with 16.
FDU (10-12, 2-3 NEC) split its doubleheader against Sacred Heart on Mar. 22. FDU senior Abbey Hoesman and Ayden Stone are both tied for the team lead in hits, with 12 each. The Peacocks will travel to Teaneck for a doubleheader at FDU on May 1. Last year, the Peacocks picked up their first win over FDU in program history, a 5-2 victory at Jaroschak Field (Mar. 22, 2023).
Later in the week, Saint Peter's hosts Wagner (3-12) for a doubleheader on Wednesday, Mar. 27. Additionally, the Peacocks open conference play with a three-game series against Fairfield (4-18, 1-2 MAAC) this weekend.
