JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's Softball team travels to Syracuse, New York for a midweek nonconference doubleheader at Le Moyne on Wednesday, Apr. 17. Game one of Wednesday's doubleheader begins at noon.
Saint Peter's (13-23, 3-9 MAAC) has an 8-12 record against nonconference opponents this season. The Peacocks have picked up wins against Central Connecticut State (Feb. 10), UMBC (Feb. 16), UMES (Feb. 22), Delaware State (Mar. 3-4), South Carolina State (Mar. 9), and FDU (Mar. 26).
Le Moyne (10-24, 3-9 NEC) is seventh in the NEC standings. The Dolphins are 2-6 at home and host Colgate in a doubleheader on Tuesday, Apr. 16.
Junior Alyssa Dybacz leads Le Moyne in batting average (.377), hits (40), doubles (6), and home runs (6). Pitcher Laura Bennet has tallied 99 strikeouts this season.
Le Moyne's Brandi Feeney is a former Saint Peter's student-athlete. Feeney played in 40 games for Saint Peter's last season.
Saint Peter's collectively is third in batting in the MAAC with a team-batting average of .276. SPU's Cara McNulty is batting a team-high .344 this season. McNulty and Dakota Pitts lead the MAAC in doubles with 12 each. Jess Forte has hit a team-high eight home runs this season, which is third in the MAAC.
Wednesday's doubleheader marks the first-ever meeting between these two programs.
