JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's Softball team hosts Quinnipiac in a doubleheader on Tuesday, Apr. 9 at Jaroschak Field. The first game begins at noon. On Wednesday, the Peacocks and Bobcats will play a third game at noon.
Saint Peter's is 12-18, and 2-4 in conference play. The Peacocks hold the third-highest batting average in the MAAC (.282) and are currently at eighth in the MAAC standings. The Bobcats picked up their first conference win in their last game against Iona (10-17, 7-2 MAAC) 2-1 on Sunday, April 7th, and are tenth in the MAAC standings.  Â
Quinnipiac catcher Kennedy Demott leads the Bobcats in hitting with a .362 and is tied for the team-lead in RBIs with nine. On the mound, QU pitcher Jaclyn Gonzalez holds a 3.73 ERA and has tallied five wins. Saint Peter's Cara McNulty and Jess Forte are tied for the team lead in home runs with six each this season. Saint Peter's freshman pitcher Morgan Lipansky, is seventh in the MAAC with an ERA of 3.37. Pitcher Kristen Brennan has the most wins this season for the Peacocks with five.Â
Saint Peter's is 7-21 all-time against the Bobcats. SPU won the last contest against QU 4-2 (Apr. 11, 2022).Â
