WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.- Saint Peter's University Swimming & Diving conceded both men's and women's meets against Monmouth University on Saturday at Steadman Natatorium.
The men's team fell to Monmouth, 181-76. On the women's side, the Peacocks were upended by a score of 171-64. Despite the loss, the Peacocks had several first place finishes. For the women's team,
Maddie McKinney was the winner of the women's 200-yard backstroke heat with a time of 2:14.25.
Niela Dawlett scored a first-place finish in the women's 200-yard IM. Saint Peter's
Leah Cunas finished right after Dawlett in second place.
Sophie Doran came in second place in the women's 50-yard freestyle with a lightning fast time of 25.95. In the men's 200-yard IM,
Ivan Anzarski won the race. Two other Peacocks,
Jerrion Newton and
Dean Lliguicota rounded out the top three of that race.
Tristan Raso and
Victor Fuentes also had second-place finishes in separate races on the afternoon.
Coming up next Saturday will be the final meet of the regular season before conference championships. At the final regular season meet, the Peacocks will host Siena College on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 12 p.m.
