BRONX, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the ECAC/IC4A Cross Country Championships on Friday, as the Peacocks continue to get closer to the MAAC Championships.
At Van Cortlandt Park, Saint Peter's finished 22nd in the men's 8K and 25th in the women's 6K.
On the men's side, freshman
Earl Hart led the way, finishing 147th with a time of 26:43.0. Not far behind him was
Sebastian Lopez, who finished 158th. Other Peacocks to finish the race were
Gerardo Quaglia (175th),
Nicholaus Micheal (205th),
Matthew Martinez (210th) and
Christopher Hernandez (224th).
For the women,
Shirleysa Rivas,
Paulina Nunez,
Shania McDuffie,
Luisana Flores and
Omaria Serrano all toed the line for Saint Peter's. Rivas was the first Peacock to cross the finish line as she came in 196th with a time of 24:56.3. She was followed by Nunez in 230th, McDuffie in 233rd, Flores in 234th and Serrano in 235th.
This is the second meet in a row where Hart has led the men's team and Rivas has led the women's team in their respective races.
