HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Saint Peter's women's cross country team competed at the Haverford Invitational Friday afternoon at the Fran Rizzo Cross Country Course. The six Peacocks went up against 38 other runners from nine different teams.
The Haverford Invitational, hosted by Haverford College, saw Villanova, Penn, Lehigh, Ursinus, Swarthmore, Jefferson (Pa.), Cheyney, PSU-Brandywine and, of course, Saint Peter's compete in the race.
The Peacocks were led by
Shirleysa Rivas, who was once again the first Saint Peter's runner to cross the finish line. She finished in 14th place in the 5K with an official time of 20:33.5. Following Rivas was
Paulina Nunez in 33rd,
Shania McDuffie in 37th,
Amanda Hyatt in 38th,
Shanelle Vilson in 40th and
Omaria Serrano in 42nd.
It was Hyatt's first-ever race in the blue and white and she finished in 30:11.2. It was also Serrano's first time running the 5K for the Peacocks.

Saint Peter's is set to race again next Saturday at the MAAC Championships before taking on the NCAA Regionals on Nov. 14.
