JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's men's soccer standout
Tim Strele is bringing the Golden Boot back to Jersey City after being named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Year, the conference announced Monday morning. As the conference's top goal scorer, he earned a spot on the All-MAAC First Team following a historic 2025 campaign.
Strele led the MAAC with 12 goals, four more than the next closest player, and topped the league in points with 24. His scoring total tied him for seventh nationally and marked the 12th-most goals in a single season by a Saint Peter's player.
The forward proved to be a consistent and clutch performer throughout the year, recording 34 shots, and 18 on net, and delivering four game-winning goals in victories over George Washington, VMI, Canisius and Rider. His signature moment came with an unforgettable four-goal performance against George Washington, one of the top single-game efforts in program history. Strele was also a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kicks this season.
This marks the first time in Strele's career that he has earned MAAC Offensive Player of the Year honors, cementing his place among the conference's most dangerous attacking talents and one of the top scorers in Saint Peter's history.
Strele becomes just the fifth Peacock to earn MAAC Offensive Player of the Year honors, joining Dominic Laws (2020-21, 2019), Murphy Wiredu (2007), Juan Gaviria (2006) and Douglas Narvaez (2004).
