BETHLEHEM, Pa.-- The Saint Peter's cross country program gears up for their final race of the season, the NCAA Mid Atlantic Regionals, hosted by Lehigh University, and will take place on the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course, Friday, November 14. The women will race in the 6K at noon, while the men take on the 10K at 1 pm.
This marks the Peacocks' second appearance on Lehigh's course this season and their first Regional Championship under head coach
John Marshall.
Competing for the women's will be
Mercedez Cruz-Fletcher, Dezoara Diaz, Lusiana Flores, Amanda Hyatt, Karilynn Jimenez, Shania McDuffie, Chloe Montegomery, Paulina Nunez, Angela Owusu Ansah, Shirleysa Rivas, Omaria Serrano, Shanelle Vilson, and Samyah Wilson.
The men's line will include
Johan Aparicio, Jack Cabrera, Earl Hart, Christopher Hernandez, Sebastian Lopez, Matthew Martinez, Nicholaus Micheal, Kenneth Montes, and Gerardo Quaglia.
At the MAAC Championships, Rivas paced the women's squad with a 24:32.1 time–a new personal record in the event, finishing 112th overall in the field. Nunez finished close behind, also clocking a new PR, crossing the finish line in 28:55.2, more than a minute faster than her previous time.
On the men's side, Lopez led the way for Saint Peter's, finishing 53rd overall with a time of 26:00.1. The rookie set a new personal record and posted the highest MAAC Championship finish by a Peacock since 2019.
NCAA MID-ATLANTIC REGIONALS
The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships will feature some of the strongest programs in the nation, including Georgetown, Villanova, Princeton, Penn State, and Navy, among others. Saint Peter's will look to cap its season with another round of competitive performances on a familiar course.
West Virginia won the women's 2024 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional cross country championship, with Ceili McCabe taking the individual title, while Villanova claimed the men's title, led by individual winner Liam Murphy.
