JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's volleyball team (7-21, 2-15 MAAC) dropped a three-set match (17-25, 26-28, 18-25) to Marist (10-19, 8-9 MAAC) on Friday night at Run Baby Run Arena, leaving just one game left on the Peacocks' schedule.
After a tough first set, the Peacocks showed a ton of fight and resilience in set two, taking the Red Foxes to extra points. Saint Peter's trailed 16-24, but rattled off a 9-0 scoring run to take a 25-24 lead. Ultimately, Marist took the set, but there were positive things going for the Peacocks.
Indira T. Benitez Dumeng had an outstanding offensive performance, racking up 11 kills while hitting an amazing .423.
Sibana Gonzalez Acevedo also played well for the Peacocks as she finished with nine kills, five digs and three blocks. She also had a .400 hitting percentage.
