JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's men's basketball team (0-1) looks to bounce back with a win vs. FDU (0-1) on Saturday at Run Baby Run Arena after a tough season opener on the road against Seton Hall. The Peacocks tip off against the Knights at 2 p.m. ET for their first home game of the season.
Saint Peter's offense got off to a slow start in its first outing of the year, scoring 50 points on just 27.5 percent shooting from the field.
TJ Robinson led SPU in points, dropping 11 in his collegiate debut, but no other Peacocks reached double figures.
Bashir Mason's Peacocks expect to have better production offensively while bringing strong intensity on defense this Saturday. Saint Peter's was narrowly outrebounded, 32 to 35, by Seton Hall, but they showed they can still pull down boards when they're outsized.
J'Quan Ewing led the team with eight rebounds in 17 minutes of playing time off the bench.
Last season against FDU, the Peacocks won by just two points on a
Bryce Eaton buzzer-beater layup. They trailed by six at halftime, but outscored the Knights by eight in the second half to secure the victory on the road. This time, the meeting will be played in Jersey City with both teams coming off losses.
ABOUT THE FDU KNIGHTS

The Knights managed to knock down some good shots and put together some solid possessions, but it was the Cyclones who ended up overpowering them and earning the victory.
FDU is coached by Jack Castleberry, who is in his third season as head coach of the Knights.
